Escaped the confines of the bedroom thanks to elves, pixies or superman himself!
This hanging feeder was ignored for some days then they found it! The green finches took preference with sparrows and others at the bottom of the tree. This one fought off several opponents then decided that to perch on the feeder itself had a better result for him. He got to the stage he couldn’t eat anymore but still wouldn’t budge! Good for getting a better shot!
Three good things;
1. Saved a few tricky situations in the fridge. … Eat one, chuck one!
2. Organising group to go on a train excursion later in the year which is a first for NZ Rail. The best of the mountain passes, West Coast explorations with meals and accommodation organised! Only 90 passengers.
3. I think John is happy “her indoors’ is back doing things!
Beautiful capture. We used to have a lot of greenfinches but a lot were killed of by a fungus on peanuts. Today I sawthe first one in about 5years on our feeder
Lovely capture of the greenfinch. They are very greedy and quite aggressive when it comes to food! So pleased you are out of the bedroom! Don't overdo it to soon! I love the sound of the train journey - how exciting!
Fantastic capture, Maggie! It looks almost like our American Goldfinches but a little duller. He looks like he rules the feeder! Fav! I've never been on a train before. I hope you have a fantastic adventure!
great capture of him and this treasure .... sounds like you may not have been feeling well , glad you're better . Now to go back and see the pictures I missed.
