This is the view from up high in Oamaru looking to the south and down the coast alongside this pacific ocean where the sea stretches as far as South America! It was particularly clear here today with cool temps but very low humidity.
Three good things:
1. There was a house for sale up here that looked lovely - not that we intend to sell, its just we love views! But I found on looking at the place online that every single room is pink! What would you do?
2. I’ve finished John’s jersey! Three years! Now what!
3. John’s found I’ve put some batteries in the wrong way! I thought I knew - the flat bit goes on the spring! Must check next time!
I can see it is a see-forever clear day such as you only get in winter. In fact i have come to the conclusion that winter in this country is a lot better than summer for the photographers viewpoint - you see things that are otherwise occluded by haze and leaves.
You can grow some amazing hedges where you live! That car looks dwarfed! There is such a thing as paint brushes! I think moving would be too much hard work & you have your house just as you want....I would stay out, another thing you haven't time to move always travelling around! I talked to Brian tonight & they spent last Tuesday & Wednesday night staying at the Highfield Muse & ate at Fat Sally's. They were impressed with Oamaru, thought it was a very stylish place! They had brought some furniture down for William, a double bed, sofa etc. they had terrible trouble with a hired traitor as the ax,e broke & then the lights on the trailer broke & they drove the whole way home from Wellington like that....very stressful!
@happypat Nice to know they took 2 days to discover Oamaru! its been fabulous weather here for ages. How on earth did they manage with a broken axle! Its a long way to William's place for them!
@maggiemae took them seven & a half hours to drive from Picton & only one whole day in Oamaru! William seems very settled in his job, good thing as they wouldn't want to do that journey with furniture too often!
It looks like a beautiful day with lovely light. Wow what a hedge! You grow some giant hedges in your part of the world! I think we should see John modelling the finished jumper!
@maggiemae Yikes!! Reminds me of the house my parents moved into while I was in college. It wasn't all pink but it was equally as (perhaps to the non-pink lover) stomach turning! Gawdy, bright, metallic wallpaper everywhere but the dining room which had an aqua and brown country scene on one wall. The carpets were all gold, avocado green or brown except the study which had a plaid one! My mother had those wall stripped and repainted and the carpet replaced within a week after they moved in. My poor father! But she made it look beautiful and when Jeff and I got married we had our reception in the yard.
What an amazing POV to be so high above the hedge!
#1. I'd paint (although pink is my favorite color!)
#2 start another one?
#3 there are far more serious things to worry about than that!
@grammyn Yes, this is a high ridge overlooking this coastline! #1- the house was too expensive to start off with!. #2 Yes, going to be a matinee jacket for my future grandchild! #3. I know!
