I watched the morning honey scramble from the bedroom window. The temperature was minus 2 outside! As usual with a frost the sun was shining at this time and when I downloaded this photo I was pleased with the bokeh in the background.
Note to me - the word 'its' should have a apostrophe!
Three good things:
1. John and I are doing a new exercise based on ‘planking’. Get into pushup position on the floor.
Now bend your elbows 90 degrees and rest your weight on your forearms. Your elbows should be directly beneath your shoulders, and your body should form a straight line from your head to your feet which are curled under. Hold the position for as long as you can. Your goal should be to hold it for two minutes.
2. I held it for 20 secs!
3. After 4 days of 20 secs a time, I find it easier to get out of my chair!
Such cute birds on any level. Yes the bokeh is lovely echoing the colours of the bird.
As far as apostrophes on its, here is the rule ... if its is possessive e.g.' its handle is broken' it does NOT have an apostrophe; BUT if it's is a contraction of it is eg 'it's a lovely day' then it DOES have an apostrophe.
I'm with Bep @gijsje We want to see the action! This looks more like a bird from an exotic country.....honey lovers too, they must make a mess when feeding, all that drippy honey! Good for you making sure if the correct grammar....I and never properly sure but hope I do ok generally!
@happypat They do make a mess both honey and droppings, Pat so I don't put out the honey often! I'd have to say that just about everyone on this 365 has a knowledge of correct grammar!
Beautiful bird and terrific shot with such great detail of him! I applaud you for planking, holding it 20 seconds (l don't think I could) AND worrying about your spelling! So many people don't today!
What a great photo of such a cute bird. So colorful. Hard to believe it is so cold there. We have cooled for us and the time of year but warming up later in the week. Happy to see on another comment of yours that your son will be in Calgary and you will be able to visit as well and see their baby once it is born. When is the baby due? I am sure you are all excited. Nice to know you and John are exercising like you are. I need to start walking again. Getting better slowly. FAV
Lovely colorful little bird, and cute processing of his thoughts. You must be in pretty good shape to do that planking for 20 seconds. I don't think I could even get into the position.
@willowdragon I have weak shoulder too but don't find this exercise taxing on them. You have to get your elbows placed directly under your shoulders so they take the weight equally! But if it hurts, don't do it!
If I tried it, I wouldn't get back up. sure would love to see a picture of it though. cute little bird. had to imagine you have cold weather while its so very warm here, not as warm as where Darlene lives. fav for the cut bird.
Love the colour and processing and especially the title, fav for me! The word you mention as needing an apostrophe should sometimes have one and sometimes not, depending on how it's used. Its use varies in meaning.
# 1. Please show your 365 friends your 'planking' exercise ;-))

Wonder if I could do the plank exercise? not sure it would help with my frozen shoulder! lol :)
