This is what I see from our road where we live - a ridge where the outlook is wide and extends to the range of mountains which actually keeps us sheltered from major weather events!
I have used a slight water texture effect from picmonkey on this scene.
Three good things:
1 . Can’t trust travel agents - get it all wrong - a motorbike show is on in Auckland and we have accommodation and travel paid for. They have booked us in a different hotel than what we found and that motel is fully booked. Auckland is tricky - this has a major rugby game on on Saturday, a horse racing event as well as the motorbike show.
2. Chocolate fudge slice for a coffee this morning at a lovely sunny cafe in a hotel - $6 for a full coffee and a huge cheese scone for John and the slice for me - not a good as the one my Mum used to make and have to hide it from us!
3. My tulip bulbs haven’t come up yet but my iris ones have!
Such a massive contrast of snowy mountain & green green grass! . It looks as though the snow is blowing of the mountains! Glad you got a bed in Auckland, will look forward to the photos. I could just eat a scone!
@happypat Its all about motorbikes, Pat. John is presenting a successful auction bidder with a brand new motorbike with special Burt Munro significance in the paint. I will take my computer, sit somewhere and look at 365!
So funny to see snow when it's 94 F (34 C) and heat index of 101 F (38 C) or to hear people speak of Spring when we are in full hot, hot, hot summer!! Sure would love some of that cool weather and the mountains to surround and protect us!! Very beautiful scenery!!
@jgpittenger Yes, I'm lucky - I can see all the photos I took whereas you are stuck with the only one! I can also see the view itself but it has generally a lot of traffic going down the road too!
What a lovely view, and I love the processing......I cannot decide if it looks like you are underwater, or if you are looking through a window and it is raining outside!! So glad you got your accommodations sorted out! And, do remind me to never plan to visit NZ or Australia during our summer months.....your winters are sounding brutal!
@maggiemae I do like the days inside with the woodstove going and soup for dinner- but I seem to like the snow less and less as the arthritis gets worse and worse.
