The Classic Bike show brought many Interesting people into see this. The men seemed to like to wear moustaches and beards and the women had tattoos. Of course (!) I didn’t sport any of these! Heaven forbid!
I took some photos and this one was on the latest Indian Motorbike called mysteriously, “Dark Horse”. He sat on the bike and didn’t want to get off!
Three good things:
1. There were some fine spells in Auckland when it didn’t rain!
2. I got to read more than 80 pages of my book!
3. A major NZ v Australia rugby game! We love to beat each other! But bear no evil - its just a friendly competition! The All Blacks won convincingly!
I love to think of you among all these bearded and tattooed people!! What a choice you must have for some great candid shots!! I love your three good things!! Lovely colourful capture with lots going on!! Fav!
Awesome portrait of this guy dreaming he was on the road with wind blowing through his air, no helmet, no speed rules, would love the same thing if it were a "car" I want protection around me!! LOL FAV!
No beard for you? Not even a teensy tatto hidden somewhere special? The processing is amazing here and I LOVE the colors..and all the stuff going on. Fantastic image. Looks like this bike was made for him. FAV
Ha ha reminded me of our younger days. I do not have tattoos or was a hippy in my younger days. We were just ordinary young people who loved bikes. My husband and I went on a cruise from Bloemfontein to Zimbabwe in those days Rhodesie. We went to the Victoria falls, lake Kariba, so many memories. The Honda 750 still standing in the garage. Ha ha and I do have a licence to drive it, but at this age I dare not!
@sdutoit In your younger days - Rhodesia - you might have known my second cousin Garfield Todd? I never went there but my mother did several times and his daughter still plays a part in our lives! On another front, there was a film made about my husband's father who was Burt Munro and the film was called "The World's Fastest Indian" It is why we are called to a lot of motorbike related events in NZ and overseas! John my husband has a velocette 1956 and he is working at making an electric start for it as he has a crippled foot. He does intend going out on it and at the age of 81, I intend following him behind in the car!
Again brings back memories of my youth..... A few years ago. Love the busyness of this scene. In my youth it was always geologists who had the beards. When my mother was in Auckland for her 90th birthday her biggest treat was being photographed in the All Blacks main stadium which was just being built for the world cup. Ireland is her 1st rugby team followed very closely by the All Blacks. She has a doll of the AB sittingin her living room which plays the Haiku, probably spelt incorrectly, when pressed. At 96 she's still an avid rugby follower
@maggiemae Thanks for following and the story. We did not know any people in Zim but met very interesting people there. I will try and get the film and enjoy the bikes! My hasband got Alzhemers and that is why we did sell all the old cars. The bike is still with us and needs some repairs. Due to his illness he is not interested in it anymore.
@sdutoit Sorry to hear about your husband - I reckon you will have a lot to deal with Sylvia. Hope that 365 gives you some light hearted moments each day!
Great shot and processing Maggiemae. Lots of detail and so much to see. Slightly concerned about the chap on the left who appears to have lost his legs.
That shot has so much to see in it. Cut away mannequins give one a little shock. I like all of the colors and the expression on your subject's face, showing that he was already imagining himself on the highway with that bike.
