Napier is the Art Deco capital of NZ. It has the most wonderful architecture and once a year they hold an Art Deco Festival with costume, old cars, music, entertainment and food in abundance! The Marine Parade extends for several miles down the coast with the wonderful Norfolk Pines lining the edges.
Three good things:
1. The first cruise ship into Napier for the season arrived today and there were flags and buses and parking spots booked.
2. The flowers around were blossoming profusely and well ahead of the South Island.
3. The sound of frogs at night!
@salza No, just one of the buildings on a main road in Napier, Sally! They have lots of iconic art deco buildings that were built in the 1930's after the major earthquake there!
Come in quite late but had to see where you are today before I go to bed! Napier, alwYs wondered if it's worth the trek across to the east side.....looks beautiful & your camera position behind the flowers is inspirational! The light in the flowers gives them a lovely glow! I hope you will post more of Napier!
