The only colour in our garden at the moment came from a bush that we both thought was dead. Then these tiny purple flowers flooded the bush! Some sort of manuka I think!
Three good things:
1. My next door neighbour who I’ve got to know so well from Facebook, clambered on to her bicycle after a knee transplant some weeks ago, and fell off! She said “the road won” Good thing is she told me!
2. Coffee with our random Gardener after he sawed through some branches and removed them within 10 mins!
3. Bought some fish (frozen) from Alaska and tried. I thought very small pieces but nice!
I didn't know Manuka had flowers, I thought it was just a ferry sort of tree! You learn something new every day! It looks very pretty I must say, has a sort of frosty looking sparkle! Poor neighbour, back to square one?
@happypat She's exercising on an exercise bicycle and thought she could tackle a real one. But the bike was a man's one and she couldn't get her leg over the bar! I wouldn't be able to either!
This is so beautiful. The color is amazing. I hope your next door neighbor will be ok. I love having a gardener though his son came today and just not the same. Did you buy the fish locally? We bought some fresh frozen catfish that we need to try soon. FAV
@darsphotos The fish I bought at the supermarket was Alaskan Pollock, a fish that is special there and relatively unknown here! We don't even have catfish, - cats, yes and fish yes!
@maggiemae I just asked my husband about Alaskan Pollock and he has had it before. I did not know that though he worked in a restaurant for years so tried a variety of foods. One of my favorite fish is catfish. I forgot that things there may not be here or the other way around. My family lives near San Francisco and they get the best fresh seafood so we buy it fresh there. Luckily we can buy it here fresh frozen. Will have to try Alaskan Polluck.
Sounds good, but I'm afraid I can't buy Manuka Honey here.
