Actually called the Bullers Mollymawk. This one was positioned just off the side of the ship when I was left entirely in charge! Everyone had either gone slosh walking or bobbing up and down fishing. I had an interesting conversation with it but neither of us knew what was being said as I don't speak mollymawkese!
Three good things:
1. It was wonderful being in the boat by myself - went up to the Bridge - twiddled a few knobs - not, stood at the bow and pretended to be a figurehead, did some exercises in the saloon with nobody watching!
2. After a poor nights sleep (the generator starts with a roar at 6.30am) I tried for a nap in the afternoon but there were too many slamming doors with people getting ready to go kayaking.
3. Learnt about the interesting history of the Puysegar Lighthouse - one of the most remote in NZ and where you could walk to from where we were positioned.
¥ou may not speak mollymawkese but you got it to pose beautifully. It has a certain look in its eye as if to say... they trusted you to look after the boat?? What fun that would have been. This is a great close up shot. Fav.
It sounds like the trip has been sleepless but exciting in many ways. I would love to see that lighthouse- I really want to go to Maine and take photos of their beautiful lighthouses. Maybe next summer... Great shot!
Absolutely excellent image and appears as if you were right in the water with him. I am certain he enjoyed the conversation as much as you did even if you were not speaking the same language.
