The day of reckoning… Snow, gale force winds, ice, hail… not here! Both north and south of us though! I spent the day getting a camellia to behave - just would not let me focus! The camelia was given to us by friends and is now starting to flower!
Probably looks good on Black!
Three good things:
1. Gave in to a strong desire to shift furniture around and managed to change just my chair. John doesn’t like his chair moved.
2. A lot of research needed from people's photos - where is it, what did it mean, what is the history!
3. The only exercise I got was waving my arms around in front of the TV which threatened to go into power saving!
I like the point of view and mood lighting Maggie. I think us photographers are always lusting after the next best piece of equipment that will give us that elusive photo! I'm after a better telephoto lens now......
@jackie8 But I'm always forgetting the good light equals good focus! I am trying to get a great photo in shady conditions and it doesn't work. Even with faster speed.
@sweetsue53 Yours has got 65Xzoom and mine only 50 but mine has 20 mpxls and yours only 16. Otherwise the same. Zoom is good but you have to keep it so steady to get good pictures! Mine is a Sony HX400V
Us photographers are always lusting after different cameras but you can manage yours beautifully Maggie, this is lovely, those stamens are spot on! Winter light is not easy anyway! Camellias are expensive over here, I'm always amazed they bloom in such cold weather! Love your TGT's!
@happypat I suppose I see such excellent photos from other people, Pat and try to emulate the skill. But I think I'm happy with this camera - it has so many qualities. We have lots of camellias in the garden!
Already on the Pp so your assessment of it must be faulty! What's not to like about it? Gorgeous color and detail and awesome clarity with fabulous composition. Perfection in a picture I say.
@happypat thanks Pat - but it really is personal - does one really think they are as good as people say! I was approached by a guy who went to my book launch and he was most flattering and I believe he meant what he said! And I have to admit what 365 friends say, makes me put my shoulders back and smile
I think this a great shot Maggie. The focus on the stamens is great. I hanged my camera recently and am really enjoying learning my way round it. I sold my Nikon as I wanted something lighter to carry around.
Maggie, your photo's are wonderful and so creative. But could you please tell me how you did the HISTORY house one. I love the look of it. And keep going back to look at it.
I've only recently changed mine.
Had a Fuji which I was happy with until the sensor went faulty (5 years old)
Tried a Panasonic bridge camera and returned it as it was not up to the job
Now using a Canon powershot SX60 - great for distance shots :-)
