After the green and wet campgrounds of Murchison in the Buller Gorge we arrived at the golden sands of the beach at Kaiteriteri. Have always wanted to come here and now we are camped just off the beach in a big Camping Ground! All good. The sea is just that wonderful shade of turquoise!
Three good things:
1. Captured the golden sands here in the sun of the afternoon.
2. The camp is so big that the sounds of spoilt children still allowed to run wild at 9pm are distant.
3. Met a Welshman and his daughter who was married to a Kiwi who just about salaamed in front of John when he found out who he was! I did a bit of introduction to my book that I published about my mother going through Wales in 1929.
The golden sand and the turquoise water looks so inviting. looks like you're going to have a great time there. we're still at the resort in Nice. the weather is not so great, lots of rain. we try to sneak the cut off of the rose bush and try to take it home. (not allowed).
This is my favourite beach .. not that I have spent much time there.. very fond memories of a holiday in 1967 and I learnt to use a skim board there... so there is a challenge to you Maggie.. but we need photographic proof.. certainly a beautiful part of the world and the sand is so different from anywhere else.
@julzmaioro The challenge, Julia - is to get into my bathing suit! All that cold wet and you have to get dry afterwards or lie on the golden sand and get it all over you! I just love wandering and taking photos!
@judithdeacon We are in a camping ground with about 300 other camping spots! Huge - tent city! But everyone is well behaved and off to enjoy the beach over the road or go mountain biking as there is a huge park here for that discipline!
@grammyn It looks as if you would like to dive in - but the water's cold and you would never get rid of the sand! Just watching and taking photos is much more pleasurable, Katy!
This is certainly a gorgeous beach and your image shows it off beautifully. We stayed there in the middle of winter - no crowds in the camping ground then!
