When trying to capture a good photo of a fast moving 2 year old, my camera was a bit slow to focus. I think I will try continuous shutter action.
Three Good Things:
1. We were able to watch the America's Cup and NZ win once again! Only one more win and we have got the Cup. Its yachting by the way!
2. Dodged the thunderstorms today - loudest thunder I've ever heard! I find thunder very exciting!
3. Meeting in-laws went well.
Beautiful portrait, she is so pretty! Fast moving children are a real challenge to capture in focus, I am always struggling with my two grandsons who are like whirlwinds - unless they are on the Playstation!

@grammyn Ah you are a thunder girl too - I always laugh and smile with young children so they won't be scared of thunder but its really the way I feel! The power of nature!
She's a real cutie, such a pretty smile. I enjoy a good thunderstorm but we don't get them very often where we live. And I have a dog that doesn't cope well with thunder.
@maggiemae I am the same way. I grew up in Washington state where there were very few thunderstorms so I am really happy to be living in the south now where they are frequent.

Cute girl. They are hard to capture though. Thunder yes -but lightning is a big no for me since I waa struck by lightning as a young girl. Still they say it doesn't strike in the same place twice. On the plus side - we did indeed WIN the cup - such a great achievement of Team NZ
@maggiemae Yes I was lucky the neighbour opened her door to us just as the lightning struck the umbrella so we were thrown across her lounge floor (me, my mum and my brother) - it was quite an entrance!
I think you took a great picture here of your granddaughter. like the subdued light.. the thunder yesterday and today was to unusual loud, it felt it chuck the whole house. Hans and I went on our roofed over deck to enjoy the thunder and the pouring rain.
I love the thunder too.
