Dobson by maggiemae

Dobson

This is a life size statue standing near the back door of Huxton Manor where we are staying in Salt Lake City. Lovely old historic place with tons of interesting pieces all around.

Three Good Things:
1. Said good bye to the Salt - kept thinking a photo would be good entitled "A Taste of the Salt" but didn't get one to suit.
2. Discovered most cameras highest operating temperature is 104degF. Mine has been out in 113! Put it in the fridge to see if would help the error message. It didn't but the lady owner of this Manor thought it hilarious!
3. Went to dinner at a nearby steakhouse, got given a bucket (really!) of peanuts, some crispy bread and ordered one appetiser to share. It was so big that we couldn't eat any more!
A fantastic capture looks like a painting

Ha ha this chap looks far too old to do much....completely different than the salt flats re light & space! Those plates sound very full!

Very painterly. Love the story about putting your camera in the fridge!

Ooh dear , Dobson does look so very pallid and fragile -- been in the job for too long , me thinks ! A lovely painterly effect . Putting your camera in the fridge !! ooh ,Maggie I don't think that would be a wise move !! !!!

I'm sure Salt Lake City has a camera store. You can take your camera to them and see what they say. I would so love to see their faces when you tell them you put it in the fridge! Smile.

Poor chap! Doesn't look as if he's had a square meal for years.

Love the processing of this image. It's stunning. Also love your signature. Did you create it yourself or is it from that NZ company that I have seen advertising?

@k1w1 I got it online somehow Christine - had to pay for it but I couldn't do something like this!

How fun. The way you have processed this makes it look like a beautiful piece of artwork
Here's hoping the camera may come back after a brief rest unless you have already purchased a new one

Wonderful processing here! Something creepy about him though ;-) He seems more appropriate for Halloween!

@onewing Poor guy, Babs - I don't think they feed him! He looks as if he needs a good steak - that pale complexion and staring eyes is quite unnerving!

@maggiemae There was an NZ company advertising on FB and they created awesome things like this. I thought I might order one...even though I could probably create it if I had the time.

@k1w1 I looked and mine was an American site and it cost $NZ88 which was $50 American. Bit expensive.
August 20th, 2017
@maggiemae Expensive maybe but it is simply awesome. I just love it.
