I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a man climb over the hotel balcony on to a very steep slope o snow. Then he pulled out this parasail from his bag, shook it out with all its ropes, the wind took it quickly up into the air and he sailed past! Would be cold at 2200metres!
Still at this mountain hotel - another two days.
Three good things:
1. Saw some goats high up on that slope - they call them 'capricorn'
2. Plenty of photos to take during the day as the light changed. Not so as I write this - its totally in cloud!
3. Barley soup but not as we know it! Creamy.
Wow one way to get away with out paying the bill.. A Cousin was in Russia and staying in a Hotel and on a window sill was a parcel that said 'Fire Escape'.. It was a parachute...
Nutcase! Yet there is a part of me that wishes I had the wherewithal to do that too and see what it felt like to fly like a bird.......great moment to photograph.
it must have been thrilling for you to witness this and make a record of it. a hotel high up in the mountains. i hope you or mr. cool aren't having breathing problems. keep the photos coming!
that is one great photo you got there. It must have been difficult to keep your cool when you saw that happening, and have the camera at the right setting at the right time. You nailed it.
Holy mole! I would have been stunned too! Glad you were able to capture him!i love the pops color here against those mountains in the distance. The compression in the shot is way cool.
