Onwards to the north and we are trying to get out of the snow forecast for the South Island. Getting ‘alerts’ all the time!
But we have warm sun and brilliant colour from the sea! Called Matai Bay.
Three Good things:
1. John saw a moth that was pretending to be a bike racer in The Commonwealth Games on the TV. It lasted 2 secs with a wild swipe with the yellow kitchen cloth.
2. This place is so beautiful, we can’t leave!
3. But it is DOC - and well patrolled….
I must be thick but I can't think what DOC means? It looks like paradise, the sand, the perfect curved bay the sweep of nicely sized waves, bliss! You are at the right end of your island! Warmer up there!
@happypat Department of Conservation, Pat. They are well organised. John got us a free night with the knowledge of who he was and a transfer of the racing bike! Glad about being at the top of NZ now!
