We are now in the South Island of NZ but the weather hasn’t been kind. Kinder than other places - wind, floods, snow, ice, floods etc though! Had two nights in a lovely camp with autumn tree colour. Quiet except for a man over the fence in his own home who appeared to be outside most of the time talking loudly! Maybe on the phone, or smoking perhaps.
Three good things:
1. The owners were rapt to meet Burt Munro’s son and got me to take photos on their camera.
2. The pukekos around the van had a confrontation with a weka.
3. Some lovely NZ lamb shoulder chops - such a nice smell while they cooked!
