Its not a resting animal…

I had bookclub at my home today and together with egg sandwiches, good coffee but mainly tea, completely forgot to take a photo! There were other considerations too.
But decided to use a small corner of our lovely new sofa together with an original fox fur (from my Mother’s collection) to experiment! I didn’t want a long exposure but more of an evening snuggle! Also used the EV.
Three good things;
1. I actually used a fast exposure for this in night lights, to mute the light.
2. One of our book club members is having such difficulty with her neighbours and as her husband died from cancer only a few months ago, we felt very supportive.
3. Got my house so clean for this bookclub meeting, I don’t need to clean for at least a month?
Inviting.love the fox fur..clean whenever!

That sofa looks to be so inviting to snuggle into - and the fur adds an ambience to it. I need to host a bookclub (or anything) as my house could do with a thorough clean up - oh but wait... there are photos to make and books to read.

Nothing better than a push to get you to clean house and then the knowledge that you don’t have to work that hard for sometime again! It looks lovely and your photo looks so inviting. Nice warm colors and a fabulous composition

Lovely lighting! Keep it lit like this, no need to dust for a couple of months imho!! What book?? Looking for recommendation as just finished a brilliant one!

Ha ha love the #3 GT Maggie, exactly my thoughts when I've had a good clean up! Love your cosy corner, your new sofa & the fur casually thrown over the corner....very sofisticated & stylish room. Neighbours can be fab or living hell! So sorry when your friend is at her most vulnerable!

@happypat Its a difficult one, Pat - don't want to get embroiled too much but need to support her!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond We don't review one book in our club, Jackie. Just go over the ones we have read and may recommend! Though this one, we may all read: Freedom at Midnight is a book by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre. It describes events around Indian independence and partition in 1947-48, beginning with the appointment of Lord Mountbatten

@grammyn All the taps gleam, the carpet is vacuumed within a millimetre of itself, even the artificial flowers are dusted, Katy.

Isn’t it funny the way we deep clean for visitors? I’m sure your house was very nice and clean before you started cleaning! Love the fox fur, is it a stole or a fax collar? How elegant and fun! Your sofa looks so comfortable. I love that lamp!

Definitely looks cozy! I always feel the same as #3 when I've cleaned the house for company too!

@louannwarren The fox fur came from my Mum and was worn a lot in those days - the '50's. I'm glad I got it...its so soft and colourful!

@phil_howcroft Thanks Phil - thats what I was trying to create - warm. My night settings let in too much light and the whole picture was too bright!

@gardenfolk I do like the way you think, Ms CC! Why pristine! It should be relaxed and a place to feel at home, not a fashion display!

Looks like a cat on there. What is there or just the way it looks? Great exposure on this lovely photo, Maggiemae. Sorry for your friend and cannot imagine though it is real to me for the first time about life and death in my world with my husband and all he is dealing with. Prayers for your friend and her friends in the bookclub. It is not easy at all. Lost my Dad to cancer 20 years ago tomorrow. Will call my Mom to say hi and send love 100 miles away to her home, where I grew up near San Francisco. My goal is to get my house clean as possible before Dan's radiation starts on July 23. Wish me luck as it needs a lot of work. Love your house and nice to have a clean one. Enjoy. FAV
