Walking down a trail on the other side of the river, it was very attractive with lots of tall trees and a good path. The river water was clear and running well.
Three Good Things:
1. Got buffeted by a gust of wind at 4am - a bit unnerving as I had been told there was an earth dam 8 km up the valley and an earthquake may dislodge it! As I am still here and not swimming, all is good!
2. Contact with our son in Japan and his wife, Masami. Son James has been accepted into a high school nearby ( not an easy feat - they have to pass a lot of exams) Daughter Zoe who has just turned 12 was packing a sad and wouldn't come out of her cocoon on her bed!
3. A pleasant talk with nearby campers
