Managed a bit of weeding today. This is an odd plant I’m not sure of the name. Maybe a large yucca thingy. The long pink arms/stalks come out like a giant giving you a punch!
I took one with my big camera on a zoom from my window then walked out on the wet grass to take this one with my phone. Better!
Apart from looking as if it is a series of laughing, baby kangaroos riding the back of a cactus, I have no idea what the name is!
I also thought it was one of the yucca family ! Nice colour , I had a cream- white coloured flower and it flowered every year , till it got too big and the roots gravitated under the fish pond !!. So , it had to have the chop !!
is it an agave? I had one similar in my garden, it flowered like this after about 7 years and then died, one last hurrah! but it was magnificent, and lots of babies formed after the flowers so now i have several. but if it flowers every year perhaps it is a yucca instead
@kali66@julzmaioro@beryl I have discovered from a highly botanical source who is also a friend that the name is: Beschorneria yuccoides A relative of both the yucca and the agave!
Try and pronounce that!
