A piece of fluff.. by maggiemae

A piece of fluff..

In our sad glasshouse which has broken panes, spider webs and lots of leaks, an odd plant has grown and I was taken with the fluff -captured or part of the plant?
Thankful for:
Reading out on the sunny deck, an old favourite author, Dick Francis, and a book I've never read! He is so good with characters and often unbelievable violence!
Looks so beautiful, I like

@pusspup Yes, I think after fine tuning it a bit,Wylie - definitely seed pods!

Looks like the spiders are happy there

@julzmaioro I did think that at first, Julia - jus lots of spiderwebs then I saw that there seemed to be connections.

A fabulous photo. Which Dick Francis? It has been years since I read anything of his but might have to revisit after hearing about your story.

I have bought a little wooden comb to remove bobbles & fluff off my jumpers & cardigans...it came today, I just felt like using it on your plant here! It’s pretty maggie, I like your afternoon! I have done the same!

Beautiful close up. I read Dick Francis ages ago. I only remember stories about horses, but maybe that's an other D.F.

@gijsje This one is called, "Odds Against" Bep!

@grammyn The author, Dick Francis is no longer with us Katy, and I thought I had read all his books. Got this from the library as an ebook!

@maggiemae I had forgotten he died. I used to love his stories

Such delicate and ephemeral fluff!

A nice capture of all the detail

@congaree I like that word, John - ephemeral - it applies here - a short time!
May 4th, 2020
@happypat I'll have to watch and see if this plant is ephemeral as @congaree John says, Pat! I hope this Covid19 is ephemeral too!

Oh dear, I think it's seen better days MM. Can you revive the glasshouse?
May 5th, 2020
@golftragic I've mentioned various options to the man, Marnie but he doesn't seem to want to do anything. Half the windows are broken, the roof is covered in mildew, the paint is peeling off on to everything! Its in the 'too hard' basket!

@maggiemae Mmmm, maybe a few catalogues featuring new green/glasshouses scattered around the place???
May 5th, 2020
@golftragic Done that too - sent him pictures of what it could be like! The thought of dismantling it might be the bugbear! Broken glass everywhere and the access is very poor. I think what we need to do is get someone to do it and go and stay somewhere else while they get to work!

excellent detail, lighting, and DoF

Your "sad" glasshouse sounds like a treasure trove for a photographer. Neat shot.
