Voting

Where there was a voting - my old primary school. This building wasn't here when I first pushed open that huge green gate in 1947! It wouldn't open (I didn't try that much) so I ran home!
Thankful for:
We used the covid app, got our own pens, our hands were sanitised but our brains, - and my memory were not! Each of us have so different memories!
Well done, I need to do the same.

Did ours today as well.. get it over with before it gets busy.. funny that you ran jome the first day.. poor you having to go to school by yourself.. My SIL hid in the calf pen at yhe road gate when she should of walked the 2ks up the road. Her downfall was that she went home too soon so got found out..

I love to see people out and about, ready to vote for what they believe in.

@julzmaioro At the age of 5 she couldn't know what would happen - like me - it was instinct to go home!

@kgolab I think its good too - maybe lockdowns taught us to look around us!

Lovely shot and story. Did you vote before you rushed back home?

Such a different world...we are doing postal vote this year for the first time..

It doesn't look too busy, maybe people are doing postal votes this year.

Glad you could vote! I expect to stand in line a long time when our early voting starts.

Like Babs we received our ballots in the mail but dropped them off at the election office. It would be nice for everyone to have short lines like in your photo.

Always our duty to vote! Happy you got it done!

This is a great shot of your school and an interesting story. I find it interesting that your schools look just like ours from the inside.

@sangwann I don't think I was able to vote at the age of 5, Dione!

I escaped too & walked up the road to my fathers office...there would be ructions these days that we were able to escape! My school was in the middle of a large town!
Your voting place looks remarkable like ours...I think the same all over...I know your schools have been on holiday so plenty of room. Hope your choice wins!

@happypat It will be exciting next Saturday! I was pleased we came to this place to vote - did not want to stand in a queue. A welcoming smile and fast processing!

@marlboromaam The people this year seem to be very keen to vote - I'm sure lockdown has made that happen!

These beautiful words from childhood. Lovely covid-time shot.

I've got my ballot completed, headed to the drop-off tomorrow. Not nearly as historically interesting a place as this, however!

Elections here are going to be highly contested, fraught with cheating and charged with emotions. Who knows when the dust will settle from it. I vaguely remember my first day at school. Too many years in between then and now but I do remember that my mother dropped me off.
