Tui by maggiemae

Tui

I've never seen a tui walking around on the grass. John thought it might be a young one who didn't know that. HIs white throat bobble was not completely visible.
Thankful for:
Making curried sausages with the Barker sauce - just out and much better than putting your own spices in. If.... you can get the lid open!
Very rarely see a tui on the ground.. lucky catch.
I got a jar of the Barkers curried sauce today.. was it good.. .note to self get FG to take the lid off the jar before he goes to milk or dinner will be late..

@julzmaioro I just about broke my wrist getting the lid open - John punctured it with a sharp knife and hey presto!

@julzmaioro Yes - I have only once seen tui wandering around on the grass, although I have a couple of times seen them dust bathing. Don't invite me for dinner if you're having curried sausages!

Well spotted. I tried and tried to get a decent photo of a tui when I was in New Zealand, but no luck.

He is beautiful and it is interesting to see him in this unnatural location. His color looks great against the grass.

@louannwarren He does, Lou Ann - most odd and very distinguishable!

That head is really interesting! So is the name- is it related to the sound he makes? Good shot to record something unusual!

I thought that tui are very rare in South Island.
