The potato future

John is planting main potatoes - red - red rascal, they are called. You can see there are great flourishing potatoes elsewhere. The main ones are early Jersey Benne, first planted early September. 80 days maturity. These Red potatoes - a red skin and white flesh 90 days.
Love jersey Benne's..

Last year we couldn't source Jersey Benne's seed stock anywhere. This year, I found them in an Ashburton Plant Shop!

There used to be a lot of potato varieties in Poland. Now it has been reduced to two varieties. The others can only be purchased from the farmer.
