Hedge Bindweed by maggiemae

Hedge Bindweed

other names, "Morning Glory', on my Plant Info app. But we knew it as convovulus. A hideous weed so difficult to get rid of. We haven't seen it down where we live now but today the flower was all over the place. Maybe the Council needs to know.
Thankful for:
This was just along the road from us but hope it doesn't develop.
Oh, yes, morning glory, can be a real pain to get rid of, but at least it's pretty!

It is so pretty but such a disaster to have in the garden. We have it down in the native tree planting and it is so strong and smothering that it pulls the young plants down.

I've never seen white morning glory here, only the blue ones

So pretty and innocent looking - but can be such a a pain to get rid of!

Such a pretty white morning glory ( I have only seen the purple) such a shame it is so invasive.

Great capture of it. I know what you mean about the bindweed. No matter what you do you cannot get rid of it. The only thing you could do is keep it under control. That is what I do.

Here we have to coax morning glories to grow and bloom. I’ve only seen blue ones. Your bindweed sounds like our invasive kudzu vine, it has destroyed whole forests here.

Beautiful!

Fabulous photo of it even though it is insidious! As someone else said at least it’s pretty

we get a lot of this around where I live but thankfully it hasn't arrived in our garden yet. So innocent looking and certainly you make it look very attractive here.

It may be a weed but it does look rather good here. Beautiful light!

@grammyn Do you know, Katy that it climbs in a clockwise direction! Who knew that and why!

@dide Apparently the only way to get rid of it is with glyphosphate which gets down to the roots! But a huge infestation would be a big problem..

@helenhall Also known as 'granny pop out of bed' Helen - imagine that!
