For those of you who have followed me for a while, you'll remember my shots of sweetgum tree balls (aka monkey balls) last fall and winter. I love their textures! They don't normally fall off the trees until winter time when they've turned brown, but the strong winds from the thunder storms have blown some green ones down. Photo OPP! I love the color GREEN and since it's also the color of my old eyes, a little Sugarloaf to go with this one. Enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xc1PHk9FhIk

awesome detail maggie, love the textures, love the tones, i remember your 'monkey balls'. Thanks for all your support for me Maggie, you are a great virtual friend
@memejanetx3 Thank you, Janet! They usually don't fall to the ground this way for us to notice them. They stay way up in the tree until they're ripe and fall. They are much heavier green, I can tell you that!
Oh yes, I remember those shots, some of the first shots I saw of yours.
You had a series going. This is very nice and a taste of things to come I suspect
You know, I've never seen these up close before they've turned brown.. They are a gorgeous color and don't look nearly quite so dastardly, lol.. I'll have to see if Rocky will let me pilfer some from her sweet gum >.>
@buggus Thank you, Oleta! They are much heavier green! LOL! Maybe she will. If the storms hadn't blown these down, I never would've seen them up close and personal. Have no way to get at them since my trees are huge!
@jaboney They would make mean weapons, Mike! Interesting that they're the same tree! I've never heard them called that, just plain old sweet gum or something with a curse word in it. I didn't think they were naturally growing outside the eastern US, but what do I know? LOL!
