Textured circles...

Might as well get all the pics I can out of these old cut trees before they're hauled to the dump. Too rotten to burn. But they have some marvelous texture and tones. Photo OPP!

Uploading early. Things to do and trying not to get behind on uploads again.
You're right -- nice textures and tones! We have some old cut trees on our property that need to be dealt with, too. Always something!

I love looking at the rings on trees. They tell the story of the tree's life.

@rockinrobyn Thank you, Robyn! Appreciate your comments and visit! Sounds like you have a photo opp waiting to happen! LOL!

@msk1p2 LOL! Do they tell you I hauled these a few years ago from a friends home who gave them to me for firewood. Alas, I couldn't find anyone to split them for me and I couldn't do it myself so they sat in the back and rotted. Oiy!

They do take an nice picture, that's for sure. Good eye, Mags.

@marlboromaam well, yeah, they do! how long it had to sit there for the wood to take on that condition for the light green cast of moss or mold. And of course, it's age by looking at the number of rings. Because obviously, if you're looking at the rings, the tree is kinda already done for. It's on to its next purpose. It's purpose right now is as photogenic model. It's a study in texture....but I ramble on.

Lyn
I'm scared to consider how many shots I have of concentric rings of fallen trees and stumps. . .this might classify for the discussion of whether you post pictures that are just simple or "brave". . .although I'm still not sure that the poster explained exactly what she meant! But I like the simplistic beauty of this, texture and colors. . .
July 28th, 2012
@lyno Thank you, Lynn! Appreciate your kind comments! What does it matter as long as it's a fairly good composition? I mean, is there really anything that we shouldn't shoot? I don't think so! Shoot what you want to, what you like, what attracts or intrigues you. LOL!
