I walked home from work Monday (as I explain in my posting for Monday) and shot purple subjects all the way --for my get pushed challenge. Even though this tree is not purple, I couldn't resist stopping and taking a bunch of shots. I've taken pictures of it on another occasion, but that was before I started 365.
So...while I was busily taking my photos, a man walked out from behind the big old house it sits near. He looked at me and said, "Are you having fun?" "Yeah," I said, "I've taken pictures of this tree in the past, but wanted to try again.. it's got such great textures...I love the gnarly..." "It's a tree." the guy said, the look on his face and his body language all clearly implying I was an idiot. Nothing was going to make him appreciate what I was seeing, so I just said "Well, it's clearly not your style of photography..." His parting comment was something on the order of "Have fun. Knock yourself out."
I've posted another shot in my Alternates album. I really should post a pic of the whole tree so you can see it, but the ones I took were not very artful.
