Laurie @luvmynynix challenged me to do a panning shot. The last time I tried it, on cars passing on a street near campus, I was a total failure.
This time, hoping for better success with higher speed cars, I went out to the Konza Prairie overlook on 177 from Manhattan to I-70 late this afternoon, and stood by the road. Oh.... a bit better, anyway. The car is not in crisp focus, but not really blurred (except for the spinning wheels); the background IS a bit blurred. Not dramatically so, though. I suppose I'd need better, more varied scenery behind the subject to emphasize background blur. Right at this stretch of the road, across the way is fairly same, same, same. Posting to show that I have tried.
