Black and White and Natural Light by mcsiegle

Black and White and Natural Light

My get pushed partner Lianna @kiwinanna challenged me to do a "black and white portrait using natural light - it can be a selfie, a street portrait or a friend/workmate." I've been really busy this past week, so I just got around to the challenge today. It's a self portrait because my mother declined to be the model (I was at her apartment after we did our grocery shopping, using my food chopper to grind up cranberries, pecans, an apple, an orange etc for a cranberry relish/salad she was making for Easter dinner at my brother's house tomorrow.
@kiwianna here's a self portrait in natural light.

This is wonderful. So well composed, and b&w processing works well.
Thanks for your visits/favs today!

@joysabin @taffy Thanks so much for stopping to comment.
@grammyn There was some salad leftover and Mom left me with a bit. It's in a small plastic container; if you want to stop by, I'll share. :-)

@mcsiegle This is really good. The light and your composition are lovely. Good thinking to do your self portrait looking at the view - and natural light.

Very nicely done, Mary. You look so thoughtful here, looking out your mom's window.

So well done...I' really impressed with how good the focus is when you obviously had to set when you weren't in the frame. I've not tried anything like this so I am intrigued!
