I found this huge, perfectly formed ice ball in the glass of water a cousin (first cousin twice removed, to be precise) gave me when my brother and I visited with her and her husband in their home. It fit perfectly with the get pushed challenge given me by Susan Harvey @susanharvey to photograph circular subjects
@kali66 Despite being a good deal younger than my mom, she is actually first cousins to my grandmother, whose mother was the oldest of 13 siblings. This woman's Father was one of the youngest of the 13. In addition to that, she is next to youngest of eight. So being born in the early 30's, she still can be first cousin to my grandma, who was born in 1886. My mother is her first cousin once removed (one generation up/down) and I'm her first cousin twice removed (two generations difference). Weird, huh? I hadn't met her before and we had a great visit, sharing genealogical info and family stories.
@kali66 second meeting, actually. A mutual friend of my brother's took us all to the Country club for dinner the week before. Yeah, I admitted to them I knew it was weird, taking a picture of the ice, but it looked so beautiful down in that glass. ha ha ha She's a real fun lady who took it in stride.
