I found my spare camera battery and went out Tuesday night to try to get a good picture of the full moon. I had forgotten about it (again) until just before I wanted to go up to bed, so didn't feel like taking the time to bring the tripod out or fiddle around too much with settings. I started out with the camera on automatic and found that I could get a pretty clear picture zoomed in on just the moon. When I tried to take a wider view it gave me weird results, adjusting the exposure to try to lighten up the scene. I experimented some with other settings, but rather ignorantly -- kind of a stab in the dark in some cases. But the knowledge that I was most likely being attacked by mosquitoes in the dark, and the necessity to go the heck up to bed, made me give up the quest for a clearly focused picture of any wider view. I got a couple of interesting results that I might post, but for now this is the best I've got for my get pushed challenge that Laura gave me -- to photograph the moon (in honor of the anniversary of the moon landing in 1969).
Amazing. You are so lucky you're actually getting to see a moon - I have not seen one since I set you the challenge (and I really want to try to get a photo myself for the anniversary).
