Help! Make Me Over!

I won! I won! Kiran chose me for the chance to get a complete makeover by any 365'er who cares to tackle the job. I'll post links to Kiran's post and my fresh challenge (once I write it) for makemeover-5

If it looks like I've been crudely cut out and pasted against a plain background, that's because it is. Lots of noise in this interior shot (don't view large, I beg you) so, since I was going for a paper-doll-like pose, I decided it would be appropriate to cut out the gray wall behind me and replace it with a no-noise gray layer.

Bottom line, I invite you to play. Please, oh please -- make me over.
Ah! need the original raw file to do you justice I am afraid. :(

@frankhymus I didn't think a photo could get any more raw than this! Haw, haw, haw...

Seriously, Frank (and I don't know if you are serious) I'm not sure I have a clue. I did just now go back into Photoshop Elements and opened the .psd file and did a "save as" to Photoshop Raw. It's 19.2 MB so I'm not sure how to get that to you. I can try compressing/zipping but I don't have a lot of expertise with that. It's going to look just as crude, but if there is any chance of beautifying me through the magic of RAW edit, I'll find a way. Here's the sequence of what that crude little photo has gone through: I downloaded into iPhoto from my P&S camera (Sony Cybershot). Cropped in iPhoto then saved to desktop (jpg) Then opened that jpg in Photoshop Elements and saved (as psd) then merged the two "visible layers" and "saved as" (jpg)

Whew. I'm tired just thinking about all I still have to learn.

@mcsiegle Hey, don't sweat it. Best way to make these available is with one of the free file sharing sites. Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/gs is a great one to start with.

@mcsiegle The original one right out of the camera before any external editing got hold of it, even though a jpeg, would be the best place to start. Hope you get some nice do overs.

@frankhymus Ah, yes. Dropbox or Google Docs. Of course! Well, I do have the original photo -- sans crop or anything. And it's only 2 MB or so. Deleted off the camera memory stick, but it's in iPhoto. If you or any other folks like you would give me a makeover if only they had the original, I'll post it. Let me know. :-)

I could have gone outside and gotten better light for my shot, but hey...just wanted to get it done and thought the blank wall would suit for background. I didn't want to take extra time going out and finding a good location. So instead I took the same extra time in PS Elements trying to make it more presentable. LOL

You did a great shot Mary! I look forward to seeing your makeover!

I laughed about the cut out dolls - I too grew up with them & know exactly what you meant!! I have even posted some on 365 http://365project.org/ltodd/365/2011-05-27

Mary, nice starting picture! I've saved a copy and maybe get around to editing later for a make over...standby ;-)
