On Saturday I went to the Kansas Historical Museum and Archives in Topeka to get an obituary off the microfilmed Topeka newspaper they have. I was excited to see that the obituary confirmed that the Sarah McCoy I saw listed on Find a Grave in an unmarked grave in a Topeka cemetery was indeed the Sarah McCoy I had been trying to find a death date and burial place for. Hooray! Toward the end of my visit there, as they were going to close in another 20 minutes or so, I noticed that the microfilm image of a city directory I was consulting would make a half and half. I didn't find Sarah in that year's directory, but did see a Sarah McCoy who I think is her in the one closest to her death.
