What a hypocrite I am! I apologized earlier in the day for posting so many of these 30-Shot April pictures all at once. And here I am near the end of the day posting another—the one for today! I blame Katy @grammyn and Vikki @summerfield —- The mundane-flowerpot challenge needs more entries and they both used one of their April 30-shots photos to contribute to that challenge. So I grabbed the chocolates and took them out to the back porch where I had a plastic pot into which I’d put some Tiger Lilies I dug from the raised bed in my back yard. They are taking over the area where I have phlox planted. I thought I would take some to the May meeting of the Deep Creek Needlecraft Club—for the plant exchange. I’m going to dig up more and take two pots.
Back to the chocolates — I didn’t give them a choice. In retrospect, I realize that wasn’t fair. I just plunked them down around the plants. One fell down into the container the pot is sitting in and I just let it sit there. They all were complaining about having to sit directly on top of the dirt, and were none too happy about having to wait while I swept a bit and washed a couple of things in the box behind the planter. I later cropped those out to reduce the distraction from the main mundane subject. I’m afraid I was a bit dismissive of their complaints. “For crying out loud, you’re all wearing your bright purple wrappers, so you’re not actually touching the dirt!” (The few bits of potting soil that I found on some of their bottoms were easy to brush or blow off.)
Again, I admit now I should have asked them if they’d do that for me. Tomorrow, I’ll try to remember that. We have a half of a month still to go and I hope they’ll want to keep working with me.
i hope you don't eat any soil later on. i'd complain, too, if i'm indiscriminately dropped in soil which also looks a bit damp. lucky that minus one sitting on the foil tray. aces!
