As you can see I love my frangipanis. The two at the top of the collage are over 40 years old. The one on the bottom right is from a cutting taken from a plant that my late Aunty had when I was a child. I have two different dark pink frangipanis and a new dark red one that is yet to bloom. I'm running out of room in my garden so if I want any more I may have to learn how to graft them onto existing plants.
These are just beautiful. I've never seen frangipani, I don't know if we get them over here so I love it when you post pictures of yours Merrelyn. Thank you. Fav.
Now HERE is how my southern California garden is greatly akin to yours in Oz! The (we call them Plumeria) are "relatively" new and popular to gardens around here. Growing up in Hawaii, I was delighted to find one...and then another. As they've grown, Ken tries to shape them, and we plunge every cutting into dirt. Like you, we've run out of space, but they're so special to me, I can't just put them in the rubbish! Same "problem" with staghorn ferns! I received one as a birthday gift, Ken keeps splitting and reposting them, so we have them covering walls throughout the yard! Enjoy the beauty of your gorgeous plants! We're in the dormant season now...no flowers.
What a lovely collage. We bought large three year old potted frangipani to start our new tiny garden. It has five different colours grafted onto it and I can't wait for them all to flower.
