Cooling Down_DSC5035

We left at the caravan at Cocklebiddy and spent the night at the Eyre Bird Observatory. The temperature peaked at 43 degrees and birds were really feeling the heat. The bird baths were hives of activity throughout the day. Luckily the weather cooled quickly, when the sea breeze came in, so we were able to do a couple of walks before dinner.
Wow, a lovely capture. I did not realize that the New Holland Honeyeater was on your side of the continent.

Fabulous capture Merrelyn. I have just been looking this up, it looks a fabulous place to stop. What was the track like for that last 12 km?

@judithdeacon it's a 4wd track but it was fine. You can't take vans or trailers into the observatory. People used to leave them in the bush part way along the track but the fire burnt out the cover. It costs about $95 per person to stay at the observatory, which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, provided by the caretakers. You also need to take your own sheets and towels.
