The light colored branch the bird is on and the light green berries on the bottom of the picture really make the picture pop! Super shot Milanie as always!
Looks like he sits there in the sun to warm up each day!! He looks puffed up like he's trying to keep warm!! We have so many mockingbirds, but I've never seen one like this puffed up! He is so cute!! Great shot and nice of hime to stay and let you photograph him!!
Very nice shot. Is this a fledgling who has recently left the nest? He looks young. I don't know much about Mockingbirds....we don't have them here in Michigan.
@annepann I am thinking it must be a young one - most of the adults fly off quickly when I approach. He is a little smaller that most of the adult mockingbirds I've seen and there are several in this same area that sound like they're calling to be fed.
It's neat that you've noticed a pattern in this one's behavior and have managed to capture his picture as well. I wish there were mockingbirds in my yard.
