The Most Unusual Rock!

A break from Makoshika State Park and off to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, just across the state border in North Dakota. These are what they call "cannonball Concretions" formed when sand grains from an ancient river deposit were cemented together by minerals dissolved in groundwater. They were fascinating. Just a little crop - you could get that close.
How absolutely amazing this is, fabulous find and shot.
