Wow, awesome shot. Looking at your focal length, you must have been pretty close, or so it seems. That tower that I'm seeing mine one, is just to blasted high.
@rickster549 I noticed him while we were driving - pulled over - got out shooting knowing he'd leave any second - wasn't at the tippy top of the tree but about midway - this was the closest and then cropped some.
Definitely an eagle, more likely a bald eagle as opposed to a golden, given the dark bill color. The lighter colored wings are different, though - most young bald eagles are more speckled or patchy in color. (They don't get the white head and tail until about their fourth year.)
