Better on black. Had to find my 3rd picture - so poked my head out the back door just as it was getting dark - still enough sun hitting my knock-out roses.
@Cherrill It's a type of rose bush quite popular in the southern parts of the United State as they are quite heat resistant - plant them and forget them - bloom from early spring right through fall.
