2015-08-18 hibiscus syriacus

Rose of Sharon / Rose mallow
(Hybiscus syriacus) violet cultivar

This malvacea comes originally from China, but is cultivated since a long time in most regions with tropical to temperate climates.

Intresting for me: Hibiscus syriacus is the national flower of South Korea. The flowers name in Korean is Mugunghwa, which means “the everlasting flower".

Beautiful, I love the reflection

@cocobella Hello Corinne. Hibiscus is a plant kind from the family of the (Malvaceae) with about 200-675 species. This one is quite different fro the trobical Hibiscus you probably know, but still a relative.

This is a stunning image; the blossom appears to be floating over its reflection. Faving big time along with numerous others!

@mona65 thank you:)

@aikimomm Hi Phoebe. Thanks for your comment. I am very pleased that you have noticed it. Actually, that was the most difficult and tricky part, achieve this floating effect, and not to crumple this delicate flower by its own weight.
