Sorry for not commenting lately. This weekend we traveled to my dad’s native place in Austria (6.5 hour drive) to celebrate the wedding of my cousin.
A wonderful traditional Austrian wedding. And what’s more nostalgic and romantic, than a bride and groom riding a traditional horse-drawn carriage.
These two lovely Haflinger have drawn the coach. In my family Haflinger have always played an important role. And so it is nice, though living in modern times, the real traditions are upheld. My grandfather and my uncle, god rest their souls, would have been delighted to see, that the Haflingers still play an important part.
Looks like a great tradition and a wonderful picture of the two. On a funny note, on the left animal, the black strip of the bridle that goes from the edge of his mouth towards the ear and ends in an oval buckle - first time I looked at the horse, I thought it was an open zipper that "opened" the skin.... I guess, I watched too many horror movies recently? :)
@vera365 Thank you for your comment and your feedback what you see in the horse-harness. Now, I see it too, and have difficulties not to look at it! Probably this is Graeme @graemestevens positive impact and influence on us ... :-)
