An Unfortunate Accident

I was out and about in these wet conditions yesterday when I came upon a one-car accident. There was one guy already there, and so I stopped to help.

He was on the phone to emergency services and was trying to keep an eye on the lady who had hit a power pole (she was trying to swerve from hitting a little dog while it crossed the road on this dreadful hill and it had some unfortunate consequences). So, seeing I have a First Aide Certificate, I thought to stay by her and just watch her - the best thing I would do. And just as well I did, she wanted to get up and walk around, and drink something; both things I stopped her from doing as she went into shock. She was also 29 weeks pregnant, so the ambulance was called.

Within half an hour, everyone was there, the road was cut off, the power was cut, and I knew it was time for me to leave. I had parked my car up the road with my hazards/flashers on so people coming over the hill would slow down - and they did. They thought I was the one broken down, until they saw beyond it.

The guy who was first on the scene was an ex-fire fighter, the owner of the silver car in the side street is an off-duty nurse and I was just passing by with a First Aide Certificate... but the message is very clear, be careful in these wet conditions.
nice of you to help to many times people just keep going!! Hope she is okay!

@brillomick I would hate it if people didn't stop to help me, so I find it's best to help where I can. If there's only one person there, stop and help, because they really need it.
