Mum had to darn quite a few holes in a vest I have which is made from pure wool. After finding eight (yes eight!!!) holes, we had a laugh that I may have spilled something on the said vest and something at those holes from the food, she stitched it up.
But these are the darning mushrooms we have. Mine is on the left and very new; while hers is on the right and around a century old.
