The theme for this week's Capture 52 is "Sparks Joy". This may seem to be a weird image but it's significant because it means we have finally finished unpacking our belongings that we brought from the UK 15 years ago! Over the Easter weekend we had a massive clear-out of our garage. We had so much stuff in there that we could hardly walk through it and the thought of facing the clear-out was very daunting. Talk about hoarders - my husband is an empty box hoarder! Every time we've bought something he's saved the box "just in case". I found empty boxes inside empty boxes inside empty boxes like a Russian doll, lol. But thankfully the clear-out is done and, although I had a few tears when I got rid of things that held memories of my mum and dad, and going back to my childhood, it now feels great to have a garage we can get into. The football table had still been packaged which was a shame because we had so much fun playing on it in the UK. Looking forward to some new games now.
@ludwigsdiana@briaan I'm glad it's not just me who had long forgotten belongings buried in unpacked boxes. It was quite an adventure opening them all. We were ruthless in our culling though - I hope I don't live to regret getting rid of things that hold memories but I steeled my heart and thought with my head.
@nickspicsnz I am planning on going up into the attic now that it is getting cooler Nick. I have to sort out and get rid of all that stuff. What does not fit in the house must go ;-)
@ludwigsdiana Good luck with your clear out Diana. I'd been dreading ours and have been putting it off and putting it off. Quite cathartic to have it done. :)
