Today in Canada we celebrate Mother’s Day and I think about how lucky I am to have an amazing Mom as my role model and thankful for all that I have.
I also think about all the people currently displaced from Fort McMurray Alberta as a terrifying wildfire continues to rage out of control, which started May 1st. I read that at this point there have been no casualties of the fire (but there has been one car accident reported, with 2 deaths), while evacuating 80,000+ people from the city and people are continually being relocated due to the movement of this devastating fire. The blaze now covers more than 2,000 square kilometers, and is growing.
Many people in the Maritimes (including my family) have a connection to Fort McMurray. My sister-in-law lived & raised her family there for many years, with her husband still living and working there. They have a home in Fort McMurray and it is unsure at this point if it still stands. Her hubby was with her at their Newfoundland home when the fire started and I am thankful everyone is safe.
Any positive thoughts and prayers you can send to the people of Alberta at this time would be appreciated. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/fort-mcmurray-wildfire-sunday-1.3572369
Love the white flowers in this capture, and the words of concern for Fort McMurray. I am thinking of both the humans and nonhumans affected by this ongoing disaster. So glad your family is safe.
Thank you for your positive thought and prayers. (and for liking my picture too).
