Oh the sacrifices we must make for 365 at times! I had to pick up a cake and some ice cream and eat them for dessert in order to get today's shot. Let me tell you, that was so hard to do!! NOT!
oh, that looks so sumptuous, notwithstanding it's french vanilla. i was just telling partner earlier today, that this hobby could be so expensive sometimes! he said he doesn't mind, that was while he was eating the apple turnover after supper! i used the 'emboss' effect on ipiccy and oh, brother! it made the shot jump off the screen it's too real! did you deliberately put the noise in this? your photo seems like it's frosting over. great shot.
@ellimae Thank you Ellen! I'm glad this made you laugh! @karenann Thank you Karenann- oh you don't need cake to make ice cream taste good in my book. I prefer it alone, but the word was a la mode so it had to go with something and this was a nice treat for Jeff. And if you believe that last sentence then I have some property in the Everglades you might be interested in!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! I did process this in iPiccy. I used the HDR effect which is probably what you're thinking the noise is. Yes, it is French Vanilla, but that's what Jeff likes- anything vanilla- and that went well with the chocolate chip pound cake that I bought for the "a la" part of a la mode. I had to be specific you know. You can't just do "mode" and call it "a la mode"; it has to be with something!
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @ulpiphotos Thanks Ulpi- it's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole- oh yes!! @sangwann lol Dione- thanks! @sabine Thanks Sabine! I'll call you next time! @httpgeffed lol Colleen- this type of sacrifice is almost too much to bear sometimes! haha @dmariewms Thanks Marie. But you know, ice cream is a great breakfast food. It's dairy!
Yummy, and Speaking of a name like LeFevre, How do you pronounce it? One of the main characters in a book I read when I was 10 had that name, and I've wondered ever since but never met anyone with it.
I am in deep pain for your suffering.....LOL! Good excuse, huh? Looks so yummy!!! Drool!!! BTW, I just read what Dixie posted and ironically I heard that name on TV Sunday night. I think it was an athlete?? But can't recall. Anyway they pronounced it La Fahv. I had always thought it was La Fahvray. Like Dixie, I'd be curious to know. Sounds French.
@bkbinthecity Thank you Brian- it takes all the courage I can muster to eat a delicious dessert! @la_photographic Thank you Laura! And yes it was! @lisjam1 Thank you Lisa. I persevere as we all must. @juleswoome Thank you Julie- come on over! @potsbypam Thanks Pam! lol Yes, a terrible expenditure since I must now go without vegetables for a week! (o:
@pandorasecho@cimes1 Thank you Dixie! Thank you Carole! Ah the name I married in to- Well, it was originally spelled LeFebvre. (Crazy French people!!) When the LeFevres came into the country (from Paris to Quebec to the US) the b was (wisely) dropped by some and retained by other (the French can be a little obstinate). And yes there are several ways to pronounce it. It can be pronounced as you heard Carole and apparently down in the South that's the way they still say it. It can also be pronounced Le Fever which is the way my in-laws say it and out of habit I do too. But quite a few years back Jeff heard it pronounced Le- fev- (like fez but with a v) er and liked it so much that way kept that he adopted that pronunciation and introduced himself that way ever since. It really throws people off to hear us say it different ways! I just can't get out of the habit of the old way, and both our boys pronounce it Le Fever too. The cutest interpretation of our name was by a little neighbor many years ago who called me Mrs. Sick! In his mind fever and sick were synonyms. We also learned that the name is quite common in France because "back in the day" it meant "simth" as in blacksmith or tinsmith. So it's really not as interesting as it sounds! All in all, it's a kooky name with a kooky history, but that's what I married in to! Bottom line- you can pronounce either way LeFever or Le-fev-er and they're both correct and we will answer to either one!
I could eat a whole pie with ice cream on top...have gained some weight recently and just started today on the hospotal diet..or the cabbage diet as some call it. vacation time is usually when I gain too so better to lose a bit now to make for it. your presentation looks good Ann.
My name is Goode but we say Good and ignore the e. Students forget but know it is something positive. I get greeted as Mrs. Happy or Mrs Nice and even occassionaly Mrs Wonderful
@bruni I'm assuming from your 3rd comment the picture finally came in? I'm trying to pare down my portions. Can't say I'm doing as much as I should but I am doing more than I did before!
@netkonnexion Some say you can have a nice glass of warm milk before you go to bed. Let's just say this is the "winterized" version of that! Sweet dreams! @pandorasecho Well, Mrs. Happy or Mrs. Wonderful certainly has a cheerier sound than Mrs. Sick. (o: @mrssmith Thanks Carla!
@olivetreeann Thank you, Ann for the explanation. Too funny but the name Imes was originally Ijams/Iams and who knows what else. I've done a lot of research and it looks like we're in the same situation with the various spellings & pronunciations.
@cimes1 You're welcome! Family tree research can be quite fascinating. Although Jeff's father's side of the family is a bit sketchy, we know more about his mother's side. Likewise on my side, we know a great deal about my dad's side and bits and pieces of my mom's. @prttblues Thanks Bev- if you're ever in the Poconos, I'll have a piece waiting for you!
