December Holiday 17

I spent some time today rummaging through my old photos to see if I could find some Christmas shots to upload for this challenge. Although I didn't actually find what I was looking for (oh no more boxes to go through!), I was pleased to find this one. Wow- I took this back in 1984! No digital camera with view it when you take it features, no free processing sites to fuss around with the picture to give it some pizzazz; just a simple 35mm camera with a rainbow filter (remember those?)! Those were the days!!
Nice effects Ann, but it makes you feel a bit whoozy

I love it, Ann! Do you still take film pictures sometimes?

@digitalrn Thank you Rick! It just reminds me of prisms reflecting rainbows on the wall.
@eudora Thank you Diane! I did a while back when there was a fellow on here who would do film challenges. I got out of the habit with digital though. And I must say, digital makes it quite easy to switch from b/w to color. On line processing allows you to do things it used to take 4 or 5 lenses and filters to accomplish with just a click of a button, so I've become a bit lazy with it. I have a role in my 35mm that I need to finish off. Perhaps next week when the grandkids come, or perhaps a shot or two of the decorations around the house. I'll have to see...

Beautifully done!

@chrismarfil Thanks Chris- this is an old shot I scanned into my computer. I'd forgotten how much fun I used to have with those filters and they were quite affordable too.

Holy cow! This is really cool! It's kind of sad that we can't go back to the days before digital sometimes isn't it? Great shot!

I got similar effects shooting through the cheap paper "fireworks" glasses they sell at the light displays here
December 19th, 2012
@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie! The filters were very affordable- about 420 or so.
December 19th, 2012
That's supposed to be $20!

@summerfield Thanks Vikki! Yes, a lot of the 80's were good years for us (not that the years are that bad now!).

@wenbow Thanks Wendy! Filters were the pre on-line processing picture pizzaz back then.
