Out For A Walk

The final four shots of Flash of Red February are here- wow! We get to choose our own theme this week from "sneak a peek", abstract, or unique pov. I've done quite a few abstracts so I thought I should change things up a bit. I decided to go for the "sneak a peek" shots since I haven't done much "street" photography. I don't know if they amount to much or be that interesting, but I've been trying new things all month, so why not go out with a bang! I caught this lady taking her afternoon walk as I was leaving the auto shop where I had my car inspected. I had just turned out of the parking lot and I slowed the car down to an absolute standstill. I was sure she was going to turn around to see who was stalking her! But she didn't so I was able to pull off a quick shot.
Good one Ann, and you lucked out this time.

@digitalrn Thanks Rick! Yes, I was so glad she didn't panic. I know that if I thought a car was following me it would be a bit scary! lol

I like this, you could put your own title to it. I get to choose my theme every week.

@kerristephens @httpgeffed @ellimae @sarasdadandmom

Thank you Kerri, Colleen, Ellen, and Terry! ( @sarasdadandmom A while back I did two challenges and put one in my first album and one in my second album and absolutely hated that I no place to just take a shot and post it. So it's only one challenge at time now!)

I wonder why she didn't turn round! Must have had something on her mind! She is not supposed to see you in this theme is she?

Great candid shot
February 26th, 2013
nice sneak shot, ann. she probably didn't even know you were behind her.
February 26th, 2013
Nice candid! I like the curving road. Way to try new things!
February 26th, 2013
Great candid capture. She looks like she's off at a fair pace!

Bev
Nice shot. She looks so alone walking down the road. There's kind of a sad feel about this photo. At least for me there is. You did great. Well done, Ann! :)

An excellent start to your spy photography career :)

Being a frequent walker, I'd be turning around for sure! Glad you were able to catch her. Good POV on this street scene.

@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! She was very focused- almost power walking but in a heavy coat that's not easy to do. I'm glad she wasn't really paying attention to me. I didn't want to spook her!
@bkbinthecity Thanks Brian!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! I don't know- either that or she walks there regularly and is used to cars driving slowly along the road. ??
@pflaume Thanks Lisa! I was taking the photo so quickly I was hoping I'd get a nice composition without the hood of the car, so I was very pleased to be at this spot with the curve just right!
@salza Thanks Sally! Maybe she was. Her stride was very purposeful.
@prttblues Thanks Bev! I really thought it odd to see her in this particular area. But it's a bit of a mish-mash; some businesses like UPS and the auto shop where I got the inspection and a few homes mixed in for good measure. It does have a desolate feel to it. But in reality, it's a busy place.
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! lol Wait 'til you see today's shot!
@cimes1 Thanks Carole! If it'd been me, I'd be turning to see if I was in the car's way. But she might be used to it. Your guess is as good as mine!

Lovely capture. Perfect in B&W.

@sangwann Thanks Dione!

You've caught her at a perfect spot in the road, makes for an engaging composition... where will that bend take her I wonder.... :)
February 26th, 2013
@filsie65 Thanks Phil! I know the answer- but I won't bore you with the details!
February 26th, 2013
Hehe, we'll done. You're braver than me. Great shot.
February 26th, 2013
Great composition.
February 27th, 2013
Nice work Ann, I would of been way too scared to even try. Fantastic composition and pov on this =)

@jesperani @daisy @tanja_1211

Thank you Jennifer, Kathryn and Tanja! lol Jennifer and Tanja- I was in a motor vehicle- even if she'd run at me, one touch on the gas pedal and I would be out of reach! Nothing brave about this shot at all!

Great image.

@la_photographic Thanks Laura!

Nice black and white, in that it does have the sort of tonality that I'd associate with a medium speed film. Great example of drive by shooting. :-)

@automaticslim Thanks Andy- this is really the only one I intentionally took to post. When I didn't get out the other two days, I used the odd-ball back-ups. Oh well, we can't be experts at everything! lol

Very sneaky Ann, do you have a future working as a PI?
March 2nd, 2013
@nicolecampbell lol Nicole, thanks! But no- on the crosswalk shot, the last student totally saw me taking the shot, even though I was pretending to look at something on my camera! Totally busted!!
