Elijah Takes a Solo by olivetreeann

Elijah Takes a Solo

We had a nice visit with our friends this evening. Jeff and Larry played together in a Bluegrass band many years ago. But today we had an extra treat when the guys pulled out their banjos. Larry's grandson Elijah joined in on the mandolin! Now before you go thinking that Elijah is a genius, let's just say that Elijah strums to his own mandolin like anyone else would march to their own drum, but he shows all the signs of having real musical talent that a three year old can show. Don't you just love his performance pose?
He must be sitting on a stool to hold this instrument so well! Great picture of the three of them!

@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! No, he's standing but he knows how to hold the instrument. Were your ears "burning" yesterday? We got talking about my grandmother's mandolin (not the one in the picture here) and how she used to play in a mandolin orchestra and I mentioned that I know someone in NZ that plays in a mandolin orchestra now. I also told them about your "Ain't She Sweet?" performance.

What a great shot, Ann! It looks so festive and fun. That little boy looks like he is going to go pro when he grows up! Well captured! :) (sorry I'm late in commenting! I have been recovering and heating and am almost back to my regular pain!)

@prttblues Thanks Bev! It is evident to all of us that Elijah is going to be quite musical. That's his grandpa with the beard and they already play a couple duets together.
