These tulips were blooming outside the funeral home where the service was held for my brother-in-law. The memorial could have been overwhelmingly sorrow-filled. But instead it turned into a celebration of all the best qualities that Scott had. Many people shared about how his art and humor impacted their lives which really made saying good-bye so much better. This lovely poem was written on the back of a card that was handed out and Jeff thought it truly summarized what Scott would say if he could:
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times
And bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done.
What a wonderful poem. I'm glad you have been able to celebrate Scott's life rather than mourn his death. Hopefully happy memories can ease the pain of his passing. Thoughts are with you and your family
So sorry, I didn't know. my condolences to you and all the family. may he rest in piece. beautiful tribute and I like what was written on the back of the card.

the poem is as beautiful as the shot of the flowers, the composition, the colours. it is better to celebrate his life rather than mourn his death, the pain will be there but will dissipate in its own time.
